Postpartum Preeclampsia – You Are Still At Risk After Your Baby Is Born
It’s important to know that delivery is not the cure for preeclampsia. Any woman can develop preeclampsia after her baby is born, whether she experienced high blood pressure during her pregnancy or not. Moms need to continue to monitor their health after delivery. Recognizing these warning signs can save your life!
From 2020-2025,TIPQC has worked in conjunction with the Preeclampsia Foundation to distribute 4,783 blood pressure cuff kits to a total of 34 hospitals and 50 doulas.

In 2020, TIPQC joined the National Preeclampsia Foundation’s Remote Monitoring Research Project. TIPQC purchased 828 blood pressure cuffs for 7 pilot hospitals to give to at-risk pregnant & postpartum patients.

In 2023, an additional 750 Blood Pressure Cuff Kits purchased for 25 hospitals to use with at-risk patients, thus totaling 3,959 kits for 34 hospitals to disseminate to pregnant and post-partum women.

TennCare Covers Home Blood Pressure Cuffs for Pregnant and Postpartum Members
In May 2025, TennCare announced that pregnant and postpartum TennCare members now qualify for home monitoring blood pressure cuff kits at no cost. All that is needed is an order from an in network provider, no additional criteria except for a diagnosis of pregnancy or postpartum is needed.
