Tennessee’s Tiniest Baby Bundle

Babies born at 29.6 gestation weeks (or less) inherently have more risk for neurological, respiratory, gastrointestinal and acquiring an infection while in hospital. We have a series of projects underway to improve their care and resulting outcomes. Click the buttom below to learn more about Tennessee’s Tiniest Babies or read more about each specific project below.

Post Birth Warning Signs

POST-BIRTH women are at risk for potential life-threatening medical complications after hospital discharge. Provider training on dangerous POST-BIRTH Warning Signs and treatment, allowed TN hospitals to provide this patient education.  This training included online education on maternal morbidity and mortality, how to deliver consistent messages about warning signs, when to seek immediate treatment, a discharge education checklist, and a handout for all mothers to take home were included in the training.  Each participating hospital developed a standard approach to postpartum discharge education and TIPQC was able to provide patient discharge magnets as well.  For more information on hospital POST-BIRTH Warning Sign templates at no charge, reach out to Steven.Compton@TIPQC.org.
