BabyScripts through a grant from United HealthCare was piloted at Regional One Health from 2021-2023. This app interacts with the hospital system EHR and links home blood pressure readings to providers. “The addition of the BabyScripts pilot program has tremendously aided our providers in patient care and given our patients access to health promotion resources we’ve not been able to provide in the past. The ability to inform and manage in this innovative way has been very exciting and effective.” -Dr. Danielle Tate, Regional One Health, Memphis

In 2022, TIPQC provided 1,150 Blood Pressure Cuff Kits from the National Preeclampsia Foundation to 18 participating hospitals requesting these for distribution to high-risk pregnant and postpartum people for remote blood pressure monitoring.

In 2023, an additional 750 Preeclampsia Blood Pressure Cuff Kits purchased for 25 hospitals to use with at-risk patients, thus totaling 3,959 kits for 34 hospitals to disseminate to pregnant and post-partum women.

In 2024, an additional 1,452 Preeclampsia Blood Pressure Cuff Kits were purchased for 27 hospitals to use with at-risk patients. Doula Trainings were held in 2024, discussing guidelines for taking blood pressures and when a pregnant or postpartum mom would need to seek immediate care. Additional instruction on best practices taking pressures, logging those, and how to share this information with providers was also discussed. Each doula received 4 blood pressure cuffs to give to their clients who are pregnant or postpartum. Over 200 cuff kits were distributed to the 50 attending doulas to disseminate to their at-risk patients.

Thanks to a generous donor through Access Foundation, in 2025, TIPQC purchased 122 Preeclampsia Foundation Blood Pressure Cuff Kits, thus totaling 4,783 kits to a total of 34 hospitals and 50 doulas to disseminate to pregnant and post-partum women the last five years.

In May 2025 TennCare announced that pregnant and postpartum TennCare members now qualify for home monitoring blood pressure cuff kits at no charge. All that is needed is an order from an in network provider, no additional criteria except for a diagnosis of pregnancy or postpartum is needed.

TIPQC will be hosting additional Doula Trainings in July/Aug 2025 to provide more in depth education on Hypertension, Preeclampsia, and POST BIRTH Warning Signs while adding in a trauma informed care component.
