Babies born at 29.6 gestation weeks (or less) inherently have more risk for neurological, respiratory, gastrointestinal and acquiring an infection while in hospital. We have a series of projects underway to improve their care and resulting outcomes.

Neuro Protection for the Tiniest

Intraventricular Hemorrhage

The first project in the Tennessee Tiniest Baby Bundle is the prevention of severe intraventricular hemorrhage (sIVH). Intraventricular hemorrhage is bleeding inside or around the ventricles of the brain.

Helping Tiniest Breathe Easier

Chronic Lung Disease

Tennessee’s tiniest babies have fragile and still maturing lungs. Improving their odds of avoiding Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia is the second project in the Tennessee Tiniest Baby Bundle.
